[Case Study] Cross-checking to Maintain the Accuracy of Drainage Inspections
The separation of orders for drainage inspection and maintenance of pest control facilities has been implemented, and we will introduce cases of factories where the water quality of the drainage tends to exceed the standards!
In a factory where drainage inspection and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility are separately contracted, our company is responsible for the drainage inspection. In one factory, there was a tendency for the wastewater quality to exceed the standards. As a result, under the administrative penalty system, there was an obligation to pay a specified fee depending on the degree of exceeding the standard values. Therefore, the managing company requested the maintenance company for improvements. The maintenance company then implemented improvement measures and conducted a drainage inspection (separately from our company) to prove the effectiveness of these measures, submitting the inspection results to the managing company. However, the results did not reflect the actual situation (with suspended solids SS at 0 mg/L, indicating no suspended matter at all), and the data was unreliable. By the way, the data from the drainage inspection conducted by our company around the same time was near the standard value (200 mg/L) and yielded different results. Considering such cases, it is deemed effective to conduct cross-checks by a third-party organization like ours when drainage inspections are not separately contracted.
